Meet Executive Chef and Partner Allan Kallstrand, or as much of Rochester calls him …the incomparable
Chef Al. A local legend of sorts, Chef Al is known for his unique take on the traditional recipes and the ability to turn the ordinary into Bellisimo!  With a unique and fabulously sinful menu, Chef Al prepares every meal fresh, with only the finest ingredients.  In fact, he’s even been known to hand deliver some of his meals, personally.

Chef Al realized his passion to create and serve exquisite meals early in life.  Born & raised in the Gates-Chili area, Chef Al has been serving the Monroe County area with great meals for over 20 years.  After graduating from Gates-Chili High School, Chef Al went on to gain a Culinary Degree from world-class Johnson & Wales Culinary University.  After mastering his culinary skills at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Chef Al returned home.  Since his return to Rochester, Chef Al has developed a sort of iconic following.  After working at several well known, high profile restaurants in the area, Chef Al is proud to co-own Calabria ….. A fusion of old world Italian Restorante fine dining with the everyday casual nature of a bistro.
